We were delighted to spend the day with Prue today – it seems crazy that this is the first time she’s met Charlie (never mind Ruby & Poppy) given that she’s only in Sydney. We’ve been a bit slack on the visiting front!! Anyway, she was fully inducted into the mayhem which is the Donaldson house and she’s gone back to her friends place for a well-earned rest!

The Southern Star observation wheel opened in Melbourne’s Docklands on 20th December 2008. The wheel rises to 120 metres and has 21 air-conditioned cabins from which you have fantastic panoramic views of Melbourne, Port Phillip Bay and up to 40 kilometres beyond. Alan went on with Ella & Charlie yesterday afternoon.

Here are some pictures from their trip to the football. It was Alan’s first time taking Ella & Charlie himself (with Neil to help) and he was surprised at how good Charlie was. He sat on his seat for all of the first half and Alan reckons he’s way more manageable than Ella was when he took her at the same age.

Yesterday was a beautiful morning so we walked along to Beachcomber on St Kilda Beach for brekkie.
Neil, Kirsteen and Michael came over for a BBQ in the afternoon then Neil & Alan took Ella & Charlie to the football. Neil did a grand job helping Ella paint her tea-set (thanks Maddie!!)

We took a stroll along to the beach park early doors before the heat really set in. There was a sailing regatta going on out in the bay but calm conditions weren’t helping! Kevin and Sylvie visited in the afternoon.

Later in the afternoon Mhairi, Alan & I walked to the pub for ‘light refreshments’ with the kids. They had fun walking home.

I realise that its a bit late to be wishing all our friends and family a merry christmas but I just didn’t get a chance to post yesterday! Hope you all had a great day.
Ella & Charlie were in Treehouse for a few hours on Christmas eve which allowed us to get last bits & pieces done, Alan and I also managed to escape for lunch on our own leaving Ruby & Poppy with Grandma.

Christmas morning was fun with Ella immediately checking whether Santa had eaten his cookie, although she was a little disturbed at the thought that Santa had been in her bedroom while she slept to fill her stocking.

This morning we went swimming with Grandma. Ella & Charlie tired Grandma out jumping on her and playing in the water while Ruby & Poppy slept in their pram like good newborn babies should!!

It seems that every day is destined to be hectic in the Donaldson household these days!! With Grandma & Grandpa staying, Aunties & Uncles visiting and friends dropping in, the place goes like a fair. The kids love it and it all adds to the excitement of Christmas for them.

Our neighbours laid on a fantastic Christmas party on Saturday night. The food was delicious, the drink free-flowing and the entertainment cabaret style with things for young and old. Ella was delighted to get her face painted and Charlie spent most of his time climbing and on the trampoline.
