Alan & I were sitting on the sofa feeding Ruby & Poppy (Alan with the obligatory glass of wine in one hand!) when we started to feel the house shake, it got worse for a few seconds then it was all over. A very strange feeling and I certainly wouldn’t like to imagine how a serious one feels. Here’s how the news reported it:
“The centre of Melbourne has been rocked by an earth tremor, with worried residents reporting buildings shaking across the metropolitan area. Householders from Reservoir, in the city’s north, to Kew and Cheltenham, southeast of Melbourne, said they felt the tremor – which lasted a few seconds – shortly before 9pm (AEDT), on Friday. A spokeswoman for Victoria Police also said there had been an earth tremor but said there were no reports of any damage immediately after the incident. “
The tremor measured 4.6 on the richter scale.
