We moved Charlie into his bed tonight. After a few unsuccessful attempts over the last few weeks he settled and went to sleep without us having to move him back into his cot. This should be the end of his cot but we’ll wait and see. Ella moved into her bed at 18mths so he’s got a few months on her!
There was only once around 11:30 that I heard a whimper and went through to find Charlie still asleep but on the floor! I put him back into bed and he didn’t stir until morning. Let’s see how we go tonight……
Alan, Charlie, Ella & I went to watch Melbourne Victory vs Queensland tonight with Neil at Telstra Dome. It was Charlie’s first football match (soccer to our Australian friends) and he was in awe for the first while. It didn’t take long before he was shouting and running around copying Ella as she shouted “Come on Melbourne” much to the amusement of those around us! Unfortunately Melbourne lost 2-0.

We headed into the city this morning to the ACMI in Federation Square, the tram ride was an instant hit! We met Kaylene with Harvey & Toby and watched Wind in the Willows which was on as part of the school holiday program. Harvey & Ella did a great job watching and asking questions, Charlie was great because he took a nap (probably due to the darkness of the cinema) and Toby sat happily with Kaylene only restless for the last 10 mins or so. Way more successful than we’d hoped for!!
My good friend back home, Joanna, welcomed the arrival of another son last week (Sept 18th) so I just want to say congratulations to her, husband Rob and big brother Wilbur. He is as yet unnamed so I’ll update the post when his mummy narrows down the shortlist!
Mum, here’s a photo as I know you’ll ask…..
Hurrah, Jo just let me know (26/09) that their new arrival is ‘Fergal Archie Mansell’.
Yesterday afternoon Ella & I went to ‘Dora’s Pirate Adventure’ live show at Vodafone Arena (I know you all wish you were there too!!!!) with her friends Maddie, Kerrigan & Trace plus mums. She seemed to enjoy it once she got over the first 10 mins of standing on her chair with her mouth gaping, almost in disbelief that ‘Dora’ was on stage! It was fairly intense and I think we need to steer clear of Dora DVDs for a few days, for my benefit.
This morning we headed down to the local beach, it was beautiful. Alan has been doing some morning runs along the sand……rather him than me!!
We spent a lazy afternoon around the pool before heading into Palm Cove in the late afternoon. It’s a beautiful little resort with a lot more happening than Trinity Beach.
