We recently had Foxtel (Aus cable TV) installed at our house. I worked in this industry for 8 years and this is probably the worst cabling job I’ve ever seen…what do you think?
To make matters worse it took me around 4 weeks to get it sorted. Not only was the cabling job bad but the Foxtel customer service was appalling. Even though I managed to get it fixed I feel it was swept under the carpet with no real follow up or even an apology. I could go on but I suppose they have wasted enough of my time already!
During the extreme heat wave that we had a few weeks ago there were some very unusual street scenes in our neighbourhood, as the heat took its toll on the trees and they all started losing their leaves. There is now a very autumnal feel although we are still in summer. Here are some pics.
We’d like to say huge congratulations to Chris & Nadia and big sisters Devon & Brodie back home in Scotland as they welcome a third daughter, Levi Lily, into the world. Lots of love to you all and hope mummy & baby are well.
It was Charlie’s little friend Jake’s 2nd birthday party yesterday in a local park. We met through swimming classes and Charlie & Jake also go to Treehouse childcare together. It’s nice for Charlie to have his own friends instead of hanging out with Ella’s friends.

On Saturday we went to a farewell party for Carolyn, Edmund, Kerrigan & Clayton who are returning to Houston early next month. It was in the Courtyard at the NGV on St Kilda Road, a fantastic space for a get together and the kids could run around happily. They’ve just returned from a trip to NZ (another thing off the list of ‘things to do’ while at this side of the world!!) and seemed to have had a great time. Ella enjoyed playing with Kerrigan and Charlie was happy running around after Kyle & Kaleb. Here’s some pictures:

Yesterday (Saturday) was the first day we were really aware of the smoke from the bush fires across the city skyline. It was otherwise a beautiful sunny morning but there was a definite burning smell outside and I guess it just brought it home to us that this is happening not very far away. Alan & I had gone out for a walk around Albert Park Lake with Ruby & Poppy and I took some pictures:
Mhairi had taken Ella & Charlie to the Aquarium and she was interviewed by one of the major news channels asking how she felt about the effects of the smoke on the children.
